​NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED CODE OF ORDINANCES
FOR THE CITY OF IRWIN, IOWA
 
The City Council of the City of Irwin will hold a Public Hearing and first reading of the ordinance regarding the proposed City of Irwin- Code of Ordinances, 2024, on Monday August 12th, 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Irwin City Hall Meeting Room.
Copies of said ordinance are available for public inspection with the City Clerk.
Oral comments will be heard at the time of the hearing, or written comments may be addressed to the City of Irwin, P.O. Box 7, Irwin, IA, 51446, prior to the hearing.

​Resolution 24-8
 
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 5, SECTION 6-5-8 & 6-5-10 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES 2024. THE AMENDED SECTIONS READ AS FOLLOWS:
 
6-5-8: Water shall be furnished at the following monthly rates per property serviced within the City limits:
 
(Code of Iowa, Sec. 384.84(1))
The first 2,000 gal.                           $40.00
Usage over 2,000 gal.                     $9.00
 
6-5-10: The rate of sewer rent shall be 50% of the net water bill for each premise. The rent shall be paid with the water bill at the same time as payment of the water bill is due and under the same condition as to penalty for the late payment, at the office of the City Clerk, beginning with the next payment after the enactment of the Ordinance, or, if connection has not been made, after the connection to the sewer system is made.
 
The minimum charge shall by $40.00 per household or business per bill month.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWIN, IOWA.
That the City of Irwin has approved amendment to Section 6-5-8 & 6-5-10 of the CODE OF ORDINANCES 2024.
